The Alaska Heart & Vascular Institute is adding another specialist to its team. Gene Quinn, M.D., M.S. joins AHVI from Harvard Medical School, where he is completing a Patient Safety and Quality fellowship program. He is also completing a fellowship program at Beth Israel-Deaconess Medical Center, with a focus on cardiovascular disease.
“I am excited for the opportunity to bring my passion to Alaska,” Dr. Quinn said. “The Alaska Heart & Vascular Institute is doing phenomenal work and I am proud to be part of a team that is dedicated to providing the best heart and vascular healthcare.”
Dr. Quinn currently attends the Harvard School of Public Health, where he is pursuing a Master of Public Health with a concentration in public health leadership. He is expected to graduate this year. His research has been published numerous times and he has won dozens of awards. Dr. Quinn’s recent awards include the Samuel Spektor Research Award from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, the Early Career Investigator Travel Award from the American Heart Association QCOR Council, and the Outstanding Resident Research Award from the Clinical and Translational Science Institute, UCSF. Dr. Quinn will begin his new position on July, 31, 2017.
