Katie graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2007. She worked for 5 years as a nurse in the Medical ICU at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas. She completed her Master’s degree at Texas Woman’s University in 2012. She worked as a nurse practitioner in Durham, North Carolina for 5 years with a focus on diabetes and general cardiology. She moved to Alaska in 2017 with her husband to join Alaska Heart and Vascular Institute.
