Jonathan R. McDonagh, MD, FACC, FSCAI

Jonathan R. McDonagh, MD, graduated with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and biochemistry from Middlebury College, Middlebury, Vt., in 1995, and his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Vermont, Burlington, Vt., in 2001. In 2005 Dr. McDonagh completed his residency at the University of Washington Medicine Residency Program in Seattle, where he then served as Chief Medical Resident.

After residency, Dr. McDonagh relocated to Alaska and began providing care to Alaskans at Central Peninsula General Hospital in Soldotna. He returned to Michigan in 2011 to complete two fellowships in cardiovascular medicine and interventional cardiology at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor, Mich. Dr. McDonagh and his family returned to Alaska in 2015 with great enthusiasm, and he joined Alaska Heart and Vascular Institute as an interventional cardiologist.

Dr. McDonagh specializes in interventional and structural cardiology and peripheral vascular disease. He is passionate about complex coronary interventions, transcatheter based valvular interventions (TAVR and MitraClip) and repair of intracardiac septal defects. In his spare time, Dr. McDonagh enjoys sharing experiences in the outdoors with his spouse and their daughters.
