Monica Lewis, MSN, FNP-C, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who brings a wealth of diverse healthcare experience to AHVI. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Utica College and her Master of Science in Nursing from SUNY Upstate Medical University. Originally from Upstate New York, Monica has always been passionate about helping people and believes in a holistic approach to healthcare.
Monica’s healthcare journey began in emergency medicine as an EMT before transitioning to nursing, where she worked in medical-surgical care and later specialized in emergency medicine at a Level I trauma center. She moved to Alaska in March 2023 and spent two years providing primary, urgent, and emergency care to patients of all ages in remote Alaskan villages. This unique experience has given her exceptional skills in comprehensive patient care across diverse and challenging environments.
Outside of her professional life, Monica embraces Alaska’s outdoor lifestyle through camping, fishing, kayaking, hiking, and gardening. She also enjoys tending to her chickens, reading, sewing, and baking.
