Dr. Pierson completed his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees at Virginia Tech, then pursued his medical studies at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. Subsequently, he completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Duke University Medical Center. Seeking further specialization in cardiology, he undertook fellowships at the renowned Cleveland Clinic in Ohio and Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA. He is certified by the American Board of Nuclear Cardiology, the National Board of Echocardiography, and the American Board of Internal Medicine in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology.
