Last Friday, AHVI celebrated 20 years of impactful change with the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women initiative! Go Red for Women has raised awareness about and continues to address the clinical care gaps in cardiovascular disease among women. This event focused on connection and engagement within the Anchorage community to further the mission of the American Heart Association to promote heart health and save lives.
During the event, AHVI staff had the opportunity to participate in a breakout session panel led by our very own Dr. Ireland. The panel was titled “Breaking Barriers: Unveiling the Faces of Women’s Cardiovascular Disease.” This panel focused on patients’ personal experiences with healthcare and cardiovascular disease and reminded us all to continue prioritizing and advocating for women’s cardiovascular health.
