Sunny Sunday, February 4th, saw the 28th annual Alaska Ski for Women! The Alaska Ski for Women is North America’s largest women’s cross-country ski event, with close to 1,000 Alaska women coming together to celebrate skiing in beautiful Kincaid Park. Participants ski up to 4K (2.4 miles), often dress up in fun costumes, bring large groups of family and friends, and are always up for a good time. We were blessed to have a break in the cold snap this year, adding to the excitement!
The event supports the Nordic Skiing Association of Anchorage and nonprofits working to stop domestic violence in Alaska. The Alaska Heart and Vascular Institute is proud to be a Gold Level Sponsor. Our team was out representing AHVI, both on skis and off! Inside the chalet, we shared snacks, glitter, and swag for participants while other team members rocked festive tutus and encouraged other skiers outside on the course.
Thanks to our team who showed up to represent AHVI on Sunday, and THANK YOU to all participants for making this an incredible fundraiser supporting the Nordic Skiing Association of Anchorage and local nonprofits working to stop domestic violence in Alaska.
